It first opened its doors in 1937 and is widely acknowledged as the precursor to the modern American Broadway Musical. The production is enormous, with the waterfront stage itself being three times larger than most Broadway Stages in New York. More than 200 actors, technicians, designers and volunteers bring The Lost Colony to life every summer.
