Due to inclement weather the Currituck County Tourism Department was unable to set off the 4th of July fireworks. The firework festivities have been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 2. The Festival of Fireworks will begin at 6 p.m. This family friendly event will feature food vendors, live music, a watermelon eating contest, children’s activities and a cornhole tournament. Bring your blanket or lawn chairs and sit on the lawn of The Whalehead Club in Currituck Heritage Park and enjoy the fireworks at dusk. This is a free event.
