Supporting the Outer Banks Community

The Outer Banks is not only a great place to visit with your family each year, with miles of wide open beaches, State and National Parks, tons of history, and incredible restaurants and unique shops, but we also offer a strong sense of community and togetherness for those who choose to live and work here. Much of that is due in part to the variety of charitable non-profits who serve this community. We come together when it's needed most. And there are no shortage of opportunities to volunteer and give back to the community groups who keep our little string of islands going year after year.

Weekly Food Donations

Have unopened, non-perishable food or toiletry items left at the end of your stay? Simply drop them off at any Sun Realty office and we'll collect and distribute those items to the Food Pantries. Whether you are staying in the northern or central Outer Banks or on Hatteras Island, there is a local food pantry that can benefit from those donations. Each year, our guests and owners donate thousands of pounds of food and household items to our local pantries!

Giving Tuesday

Each year, Sun Realty is proud to give back to our community, both through donations and through staff volunteerism. Below are a few of the non-profits we've supported, all doing great work in the community. Through our Giving Tuesday initiative, our owners and guests are able to help us choose a Fan Favorite local charity each year.

Employee Gifted Charity Time

All Sun Realty employees are encouraged to give back to the community by volunteering time with whatever non-profit or non-profits they are passionate about.
