Happy 135th Birthday Currituck Beach Lighthouse
On Wednesday, December 1, 2010 come celebrate the Currituck Beach Lighthouse in Corolla and it's 135th birthday.
The lighthouse climb will be free and climbers will get the RARE chance to see the lens room. The Currituck Beach Lighthouse boasts one for the very few first order fraternal lenses still working today. Once the sky is dark and the light is on you'll be able to feel the heat from the light prisms. Lighthouse keepers will be on hand to discuss how it all works and don't forget to bring a flashlight.
