Ok, so I'm a big history nerd. I love old architecture, Civil War history, WWII stories, sepia photos, and yes, the History Channel. For all my fellow history nerds out there, let me tell you about one of my favorite galleries on the Outer Banks...
Head south on the Beach Road (also known as Virginia Dare Trail) until you reach Mile Post 11. Be on the lookout for a charming beach cottage with propped blue shutters and a welcoming ambiance. Step inside Yellowhouse Gallery and begin searching for your own special treasure!
This locally-owned Outer Banks gallery is bursting with unique finds. Antique prints, vintage Outer Banks maps, Civil War portraits, steel engravings and so much more. I could seriously spend hours combing through the shelves. (I should also mention that their prices are quite reasonable.)
If history really isn't your thing, Yellowhouse Gallery also offers a large selection of seaside art, wildlife prints and aerial photography. Works by local artists are featured, as well as stunning Outer Banks photos by Yellowhouse Gallery owner, Eve Turek.
On your next OBX vacation, be sure to stop by Yellowhouse Gallery and say hello to owners Eve and Pete. You'll go back year after year to see what new things the gallery has to offer. It's also the perfect place to find a gift for that person who has everything.
