Beaches in South Nags Head will receive a face-lift thanks to the approval of the South Nags Head Beach Nourishment. Approved by both the city and state, sand will be pumped along 10 miles of Outer Banks shoreline in South Nags Head from this spring through October.

The second annual Flying Pirate Half Marathon is set for Sunday, April 10 at 7:20 a.m. More than 2,000 runners and walkers will start the trek on the Woods Road in Kitty Hawk and finish behind the Outer Banks Family YMCA in Nags Head.
