Head out to the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills this weekend for the 32nd Annual Wright Kite Festival. Admission to the memorial is $4 for adults and free to children 16 and under. All festival activities are free. The festival will be held on Saturday, July 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in celebration of the history of aviation. Large kite displays will dazzle festival goers from the top of the Wright Brothers Memorial.

The Corolla Surf Shop Surf & Skim Grom Fest Contest is being held on Thursday, July 8 at 11 a.m. The contest is open to all surfers and skim boarders, 18 or under.  The surf contest will be divided in to the following divisions: Boys ages 16-18, 13-15, 11-12, 9-10 and 8 and under & Girls 13-18, 9-12 and 8 and under. The skim boarding competition is open to boys and girls of all ages. The contest begins at 11 a.m. at Lighthouse Ramp Road in Corolla. Entry fee is $27 and includes lunch and a contestant t-shirt.

The Outer Banks Relief Foundation and Sun Realty are celebrating Christmas in July. Stop by any of our seven Sun Realty offices and see our employees sporting their red noses from July 9, 10 and 11. Donation jars will be available in the rental offices. Make a donation of any size and receive your own red nose. The Outer Banks Relief Foundation raises funds to help local residents burdened with financial difficulties due to a debilitating disease or illness, or a personal tragedy or crisis with themselves or a family member.
